About

For George J. Mudryj Photography (GJM), there is a picture lurking everywhere. Through the camera lens, the artist has a unique talent in finding beauty in simple, ordinary objects and turning them into graphically pleasing images.

Something magical happens with the artist’s camera. GJM uses the lens as his palette to create a kaleidescope of moods- relaxing, mysterious, dynamic and full of energy. He literally draws the viewer into the image through his interesting variety of colors, forms, patterns, flowing lines and angles. This, combined with a focus on light, shadows and depth of field enhances a particular aspect of the subject, presenting the viewer with a totally new perspective on an ordinary object.

GJM’s photos also reflects his love of nature. His fascination with subjects in his environment goes back over 35 years when he first started to photograph capturing images of landscapes, plants, insects, animals and especially birds. Whether it be simply still water or water movements on a lake, a stream or flock of birds or individual animals, his photos are always pleasing to the viewer.

However GJM does not shy away from experimenting with different exposure effects and development techniques. He uses them to accentuate a situation, to emphasize a mood or to elaborate a state of mind. His photographs always highlight great detail, making them fascinating and pleasing to both the eyeand mind.

His photography never leaves the viewer indifferent; the photographs entice, excite often leaving the viewer with a sense of peace and tranquility.
Beauty, ambiance and visual expressions are achieved through composition and tonal color relationships more than through human interaction.

GJM passion for photography started in 1973 and his collection has now reached over ½ million photos taken in Arizona, Toronto and Winnipeg.

This site is only a small sample of his work. The photos are available for purchase.
